Class Length: 8 weeks, 6pm-9pm each Thursday, beginning September 10th

Class Description: Take your pottery beyond individual pieces and learn how to create a cohesive body of work. Designed for intermediate and advanced wheel throwers, this eight-week course focuses on developing a unified collection of functional or sculptural ceramics that reflects your personal style while meeting the standards of galleries, exhibitions, and fine craft shows. Throughout the course, you’ll explore how consistency in form, surface treatment, color palette, and craftsmanship can strengthen your artistic voice. Weekly demonstrations and discussions will cover designing a collection, refining forms, developing a signature surface language, and making intentional aesthetic choices that tie your work together. You’ll also gain practical insight into photographing your work, writing about your collection, pricing your pieces, and presenting them professionally for display. Whether you’re considering your first art fair, applying to galleries, or simply looking to elevate your work to the next level, this course will help you bridge the gap between making pottery and presenting it as a professional body of work. Students should be comfortable centering and throwing independently. This class is designed for intermediate to advanced potters who are ready to refine their skills, develop a cohesive artistic vision, and present their work with confidence.
Age Limitations: Ages 16 & Up
Supplies Included: Tuition covers 25 lbs of clay, use of studio glazes, all firings, and use of communal tools and equipment.
Additional Supplies: Students should bring their own throwing tools. Students are encouraged to have their own bats, bat pins, and a butane torch.
