Class Length: 8 weeks, meets 6:30pm-8:30pm each Monday, beginning September 8th
Tuition: $205 (+ $50 materials fee)

Class Description: Discover the endless possibilities of clay in this dynamic ceramics class designed just for teens! Students will learn the fundamentals of both wheel throwing and hand-building sculpture techniques in a fun, supportive environment. We’ll start by covering the basics of working on the pottery wheel — from centering clay to creating bowls, cups, and small vessels. Alongside wheel work, students will explore hand-building methods like pinch, coil, and slab construction to bring their creative ideas to life in sculptural form. Participants will gain hands-on experience with essential tools, surface decoration techniques, and glazing methods, while developing their own artistic style. No prior experience is necessary — just a willingness to get your hands dirty and experiment!

Age Limitations: Ages 13-16

Supplies Included: Tuition covers all communal clay, use of studio glazes, all firings, and use of some communal tools and equipment.

Additional Supplies Parents need to provide: Each student will need their own basic ceramic tool kit. We have these available for purchase at the art center for $30 but we recommend you purchase prior to day one of class when we are open to the public, otherwise please bring cash with you to hand to the instructor. An apron or shirt to wear and a personal hand towel to bring each class (We don’t use paper towels in this facility and we don’t do laundry!)
