Class Length: 4 weeks, 10am – 1pm each Monday, beginning April 6th
Tuition: $170 (+ $40 materials fee)
Class Description: Take your ceramic work to the next level in this focused four-week surface design intensive. Designed for intermediate to advanced makers, this class explores a range of decorative techniques that bring depth, color, and personality to your work. Students will experiment with methods such as slip decoration, slip-casting approaches for surface embellishment, layering and carving slips, and using washes successfully to enhance texture and form.
Participants should bring a selection of leatherhard and bisque-fired pieces to each class so techniques can be applied immediately to their own work. Expect demonstrations, guided experimentation, and plenty of creative play as you build a richer surface vocabulary for your ceramics.
Age Limitations: Ages 16 & Up
Supplies Included: Tuition covers use of studio slips, washes, glazes, all firings, and use of communal tools and equipment. CLAY WILL NOT BE PROVIDED FOR THIS CLASS
Additional Supplies: Participants should bring a selection of leatherhard and bisque-fired pieces.
