Description

Class Length: One day, 1pm – 3:30pm on Sunday, September 7th

Class Description: If you’ve always wanted to make the perfect pouring vessel but seem to have trouble with spouts, handles, sizing, shape or form, then this may be the perfect workshop for you. In one afternoon we’ll discuss spout mechanics, what makes a good pitcher, what forms to avoid, and how to consider handles that work well for your forms. You should already be able to throw on a potter’s wheel and shouldn’t need basic help with centering and pulling walls. Students are encouraged to come to class with images, ideas and sketches of the type of pouring vessel they’d like to try to make.

Age Limitations: Ages 16-Adult

Supplies Included: Tuition covers use of recycled clay but students are welcome to bring and use their own preferred clay. Bisque firing is also covered if students wish to leave their work to be fired.

Additional Supplies: Students should provide their own bat, bat pins, and basic throwing tools

Teachers: Deb Balestreri

Seating Limit: 10
