Description

Class Length: One day, 1:30pm – 3:30pm

Class Description: Looking to get a handle on handles?

In this workshop, I will take a deep dive into all things handles: how to make and attach them, and the ergonomics of what makes a good handle. There is an actual science around handles and how they should be placed in your pots for maximum use comfort. We’ll review that and I will demonstrate a few different ways you can make handles from pulling them, slab building them and more. Students are encouraged to bring freshly trimmed and somewhat leatherhard mugs with them if they wish to attach handles during the workshop.

Age Limitations: Ages 16 & Up

Supplies: Students should bring their own pottery tools, apron and towel. Clay is provided to test making handles but if students bring nearly finished pots that need handles, they should bring the clay that matches their pot.

Teachers: Deb Balestreri

Seating Limit: 10
