Class Description: Curious about the pottery wheel but not sure where to start? This 4-week beginner wheel throwing intensive is the perfect introduction to the fundamentals of working with clay on the wheel. Designed for complete beginners, this hands-on course will guide students step-by-step through the essential techniques needed to create their first functional pottery.
Students will learn how to properly prepare clay, center on the wheel, pull walls, and form simple shapes such as bowls and cups. Each class will include demonstrations, guided practice, and plenty of one-on-one instruction to help build confidence and skill. In the final weeks, students will learn basic trimming and simple finishing techniques to refine their work.
By the end of the course, participants will have a strong foundation in wheel throwing and several handmade ceramic pieces ready to glaze and enjoy. Come ready to get a little muddy, learn a lot, and discover the joy of making pottery!
